The GIAN Course on Computational Social Choice will be held during 4th to 8th December (Mon-Fri next week). The instructor for this course is Prof. Edith Elkind from the University of Oxford.The lectures will be held between 2:30PM and 6PM every day, with a break between 4PM and 4:30PM. The venue for the lectures is 6/202.

- You might already be aware of the programme, “Global Initiative for Academic Networks (GIAN) in Higher Education” - of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India - aimed at tapping the talent pool of scientists and entrepreneurs internationally
to encourage their engagement with the institutes of Higher Education in India. The GIAN Programme provides a platform for inviting eminent people for offering a course fully or jointly with the faculty in institutes in India.
As part of the above program, we are happy to announce that Prof Thas Nirmalathas, University of Melbourne, has kindly consented to offer a course titled "Microwave Photonics" during Feb 16-25, 2017. Prof Nirmalathas is one of the foremost experts in Microwave Photonics and is currently the Director of Melbourne Networked Society Institute.
It is indeed a unique opportunity to learn and interact with Prof Nirmalathas on this important topic of Microwave Photonics, which has a renewed research interest in the context of 5G and emerging wireless technologies. The venue of the course would be IIT Madras and the lecture timings would be from 4- 7 pm.
